Born in Tenerife, he studied music and Classical Voice with Isabel G. Soto, Giuseppe Valdengo, and since 2004 with Alfonso García Leoz. He won the IV Concurso Villa Abarán de Murcia, which marked the start of his career in prestigious venues such as the Auditorio Nacional, Palau de Les Arts, Auditorio de Gran Canaria, Santander, Huelva, Campoamor and La Zarzuela, among others.
In 2004, his voice evolved, and as a result, he earned 1st Prize in the Julián Gayarre competition an 2nd Prize in the Jaime Aragall competition. These achievments led to immediate engagements in Spain and worldwide. His repertoire includes roles in La Bruja, Francisquita, Marina, Lucia di Lammermoore, Gianni Schicchi, Il Tabarro, Macbeth, La Vida Breve, Andrea Chenier and West Side Story.
In 2010 an unexpected substitution at Teatro Real, one of the most renowned theaters in Madrid, led him to sing in the most important theaters in Italy and Spain, including “Aida and Cavalleria” at La Scala,” Carmen” in Palermo “Carmen and Aida” in Naples, “Tosca” at Teatro Real, “Cavalleria, Tosca, Aida, Le Cid and Trovatore” at Palau Les Arts and “Butterfly and Tosca” at Liceu. His portrayal of Calf under the direction of Maestro Mehta deserves special mention.
Following his success in Vienna and Berlin operas with Tosca, Butterfly and Aida he was once again invited for productions such as season opening of Ballo in Maschera, Tosca and Aida in Berlin, and Aida, Butterfly and a new production om Macbeth in Vienna.
Furthermore, among his most recent notable performances includes Aida at the Metropolitan Opera in New York (MET), Madama Butterfly at Teatro Real, Gala t La Scala under the direction of Plácido Domingo, Andrea Chenier at Teatro Campoamor in Oviedo, Turandot in Turin, Andrea Chenier and Manon Lescau at Teatro Liceo, Tosca and Manon Lescaut in Hamburg, Tosca in Tokyo and Katiuska at Teatro la Zarzuela. He received the Oscar de la Lírica for the best tenor in 2016.
